You should check to West Marine.

Most of the previously mentioned models are not waterproof. They are waterproof.

Only very few manufacturers undertake to say, his unit is waterproof.

The evidence that I know the water has a separate antenna that is waterproof. The base unit is water resistant.

It really is not "cheap, easy and portable" GPS device. that's pretty much limits your selection.

However, there are cases sealed in your GPS device. There are at least 5 Rei I know that one of the less expensive Garmin containing devices.

There are availalbe Triton2000 new homes under water, but it is too expensive ($ 300-400)

Now to your cruising needs: a GPS device to lower prices are starting / w screen and mapping functions easily. If you plan to invite or topo charts have a better device (Triton 300).

If anything I want to do is their position on a paper map of the plot, go with the cheaper camera with a waterproof case.

If you have a Bass Pro or Cabela's wearing them. Probably even a Radio Shack, if there is one near you. You can also try to find the Web to companies such as Garmin or Magellan. Generally have a certain way is a direct purchase or find a reseller near you. Make sure you will find one that can bring their own points of interest, to make things so easy.

Try eBay ... Magellan and Garmin devices are often higher .... Prices are reasonable, as a rule ... I sold a number of units of more than U.S. $ 30 - $ 60 ... If a device still works after a few years should be good for the long bar ... Single Point of Service, you may have to deal with a series of internal memory.
